Application:
Copper powder for conductive used in buildings, usually for roofing, oxidizes to form a green verdigris (or patina). The effect of the electroless silver plating on the copper powder for conductive (3.4 μm) and its oxidation resistance was studied by changing the silver content. The coated copper powder was characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
The LDPE filled with Cu powder has better thermal stability than the unfilled polymer. LLDPE composites show better stability only at lower Cu levels. Generally, composites exhibit poor mechanical properties (except Young’s modulus) compared to unfilled polymers.
